Properties And Characteristics Of High Temperature Titanium Alloys(TC6 and Tc9)

High temperature resistant titanium alloy usually refers to titanium alloys that work for a long time above 400 degrees, and are mainly used to make compressor discs and blades of aero-engines.The main characteristics of high temperature titanium alloys are high temperature strength, creep temperature, and high temperature thermal stability. High temperature thermal stability refers to the ability of titanium alloys to maintain plasticity and toughness after exposure to stressed and unstressed states at a certain temperature.

Tc6 and Tc9 titanium alloy

Tc6 is Ti-5AL-2Cr-2Mo-1Fe and Ti-6Al-2Sn-3Mo-0.3Si, Tc6 contains elements chromium and iron, in the case of long-term heating, eutectoid decomposition will occur and alloy embrittlement will be added. 2% Mo can delay eutectoid decomposition and improve thermal stability, and it is suitable for working at a temperature of 350-450 degrees. Silicon is added to the tc9 alloy, which has a higher degree of alloying, so the thermal strength and thermal stability are higher than those of Tc6, and the operating temperature can reach 500 degrees. They generally use double annealing, which can ensure the stability of the organization better than ordinary annealing.
