Product Details

The Material Of L605

L605 (AMS 5537, AMS 5759) is a cobalt-chromium-tungsten-nickel alloy. It has outstanding formability, high strength up to 1500°F (816°C) and outstanding oxidation resistance up to 1800°F (980°C). It also has outstanding vulcanization resistance and is resistant to wear and tear. The L605 is non-magnetic and the high chromium content provides corrosion resistance in a variety of environments, such as Marine, hydrochloric and nitric acid, and wet chlorine.

The Application Of L605

The L-605 has excellent tolerance to the thermal corrosion environments used by jet engines, and its oxidation resistance is ideal for intermittent operations up to 1600°F (871°C) and continuous operations up to 2000°F (1093°C). The L605 is particularly resistant to carburizing and curing atmospheres up to 1600°F (871°C). These characteristics make it ideal for gas turbine use, fabrics, combustion chamber components, and jet engine components.

L605 Process properties and requirements

1, the alloy has satisfactory cold and hot formability, hot working temperature range of 1200 ~ 980℃, forging temperature should be high enough to reduce grain boundary carbide, but also low enough to control the grain size, the appropriate forging temperature is about 1170℃.

2. The average grain size of the alloy is closely related to the deformation degree and final forging temperature of the forging.

3. The alloy can be connected by fusion welding, resistance welding and fiber welding.

4, alloy solution treatment: forging and forging bar 1230℃, water cooling.
