The melting point of tungsten is 3410°C, the boiling point is about 5900°C, and the thermal conductivity is 174 W/m·K at 10-100°C. At high temperature, the evaporation speed is slow and the thermal expansion coefficient is very small. When the expansion coefficient is 0-100°C , is 4.5×10-6·K-1.The specific resistance of tungsten is about 3 times greater than that of copper. The resistivity is 10-8 ohm·m at 20°C.Tungsten has high hardness and high density (19.25 g/cm3), good high temperature strength and good electron emission performance. The mechanical properties of tungsten are mainly determined by its pressure processing state and heat treatment process. Tungsten cannot be press-worked in its cold state. Forging, rolling, and wire drawing all need to be carried out in a hot state.Tungsten is stable in the air at room temperature, and tungsten begins to oxidize obviously at 400-500°C, forming a blue-black dense W03 surface protective film.Tungsten is not easily corroded by acid, alkali and aqua regia at room temperature, but it is dissolved in the mixture of hydrofluoric acid and aqua regia.
